I just today put NAPA Premium Performance Universal Fleet Plus 15-40 in my engine. It's CI-4 Plus oil. About 1200 ppm zinc. For a stock or mild cam it's good stuff.

15-40 Delo and Shell Rotella T is good too.

Just about any oil sold for newer cars will have low zinc... not near enough for a flat tappet. Diesel oils, motor cycle oils, some racing oils and the heaviest grade of Mobile 1 (15W-50?)have it.

My choice is Rotella T + STP because its readily available and cost effective.

In my 76 F150 I've been using he Valvoline VR1 racing oils as it is high zinc content but not sure how much. Broke the engine in with it no problems with a new flat tappet cam. Maybe someone here has the numbers? It isn't much more than regular dino oil. Running the 20W50 stuff.

Edit: Found this post on BobIsTheOilGuy forum:

http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1271805

Looks like 1300 ppm zinc and 1200 ppm phosphorus for the VR1 oils.

Valvoline VR-1 has a bunch of zinc. Here's an oil analysis I had done last December. The first column is for the VR-1.
Delvac diesel oil used to have high zinc content but it has been dropping from the levels shown in my 2007 analysis.
