Being that I now have a '67 Dart, I now pay more attention when I notice someone having one of these years. I also notice that there seem to be more '68's and '69's. Were there more of them made? Or do they just seem to be more desirable to 67-69 Dart owners on this site?

I have wondered the same thing as I also own a 67. I'm convinced that there were fewer 67's than the others. I can find grilles, and head light bezels, and tail lights all day long for 68's and 69's but rarely for 67's, and THEN they're usually beat up. I'd like to know the break down as well. hopefully some #'s guy will know. Are you doing a parts search?

there was only 400 or so performance model dart GTS cars built in 67.. the others are nothing special and arent given much thought when faced with the crusher.. there was many more 68-9 muscle darts built + they are nicer looking trim wise etc dan

I hope you mean the 67 Trim looks nicer... Lots more chrome and stainless on a 67.

My Dad had a '67 4dr back in '78 and even then it was hard to find parts for it. I don't think he ever found a good pas side tail light lense the three years he owned it. I went with him on many of his junkyard hunts for parts and all we'd find were '68's and '69's (4dr's, convertibles, GT's ).

Neat little car, had a 273/auto.

'67s seem to be less desireable.....However, personally I think they are the best looking. The '68s and '69s had cluttered taillamps and "ME TOO" Camaro front parking lamps.....Only they were a year TOO late.

There were also 457 1967 383 GTS made. 16,637 69 Swingers. According to Dodge Dart and Plymouth Duster by Musclecar. I sure see alot more 69s on the road than 67s or 68s. I know a set of headlight bezels for a 69 is more than the 67s or 68s. All great years

I also own a 67 Dart. Mine is a 2dr sedan. I like the looks of 67's without the side marker lights. However I do like the round turn signals in the grille of the 68's. The worst thing about the 67 Dart's(I believe) is the windshield moulding. The idea of the "chromed" plastic strips and (missing on my car) corners is goofy.
I think their are alot more 68 and 69 Darts that have been restored so they are more visable at car shows, cruises, etc. The 67 darts are out there, as I found one in a guys yard near me that I hope is for sale, but they are not quite as popular as the 68's and 69's.

It's all subjective to personal taste..........

I think the Dart got better looking every year until 70. The 69 looks the cleanest, but that's just what I think. I like the 70-72's but the Dart took on a different look with the thinner front bumper and slanted back end.

I agree that it is a matter of personal taste. I believe the 68 wins the popularity contest with most people because of the hemi superstock darts.

I have a 67'GT Vert also. Is there a breakdown on GT's: vert vs hard top?

Any clean trunk panels out there?

IMO: The 67's seem rarest due to the lack ( almost ) of a "Special" model. Compared to the 68 340/383 GTS and the 69 340/383/Mcode 440 GTS, the 1967 year only had the late year addition 383 GTS in its lineup. The more mundane the model, the more they get used up in everyday driving. Also, who restores a Dart270 compared to the number of guys willing to restore a 383 GTS? Same reason why you don't see many Valiants being saved. Not a "special" model in the line up. As far as their value???? Like said before, it is a subjective thing. The GTS model is rarer than a RoadRunner or most E-bodies. But which pulls in the most money? Isn't the A-body. They are under-valued, and under-appreciated, for sure.

The 1967 model year Dodge GTS was limited to only 457 units. This total represents both hardtop and convertible combined. However, there is a breakdown for 4 speed and automatic production numbers. Only 229 4-speeds and 228 automatic 383 GTS were produced. Weird, huh? can't get us the bodystyle of the entire car, but they can provide the breakdown of transmission type!

The 67 Dart was a first year model and very few parts interchange between the years, especially the 67. Marker lights, dash pads, dash bezels, tail lights, grills and bezels, and all trim (just try to find a complete set of 67 trim in good shape) are completely different between the 3 years. 67 and 68 especially have individual dash pads that are hard to find. Plus, the doors have different lock positions on 67 and 68. There were less overall Darts made in 67, but they seem not to be as desireable. However, the 273 4-bbl versions were quite potent. Ask me how I know, my 69 383 4-speed GTS had its butt kicked by a 67 270 E code 4-speed car 15 years ago! Plus, my 67 383 4-speed GTS only had 280 HP, plus the heavy front end. Although the best brakes I ever had were the manual discs on my 67 GTS's.
