I have an unused magnum crate motor roller cam that I bought on ebay. I want to use it with a high volume pump. I assume the one in the motor now (factory) to be unsuitable for this, ie not pinned or hardened. Will any hardened shaft and pinned gear type work with the new cam or do I need a bronze/aluminum gear type. I haven't been able to find out whats in the crate motors. Most info I've read said roller cam=bronze gear. I can't see that being used in an oem or with this cam but not sure.

No bronze drive gear needed. Stock gear is fine.High volume oil pump isn't needed on most SB mopars.
