About 8 years ago we put a warmed over 440 in a 73 Dart 4 dr. It basically is parked in our garage under a large painting canvas. It only has been driven 6K miles in the past 8 years.
The engine has 9.25:1 pistons, a big summit cam, 906 heads with larger ss valves and an edl 750 cfm carb on a stock man. Schumacher chromed tri-y headers. Tranny is a 727 with 3.0 rear rears.
Disk brakes in front and Lincoln town car brakes in rear. Ford rearend.
Issues that I have never solved are:
Normal C-body radiator fitted in.
Engine runs too hot with the AC on. Never did get proper radiator and fan/shroud combo to get enough air flow to cool in traffic. We have tried many options including several electric fans.
Transmission shifter also an issue. Hurst promatic uses a cable that keeps getting melted by the exhaust system. Never could sort out a z-bar to make the stock system work.
We did make a 3500 mile trip in 2009, no issue but she will get hot if you drive her 80 mpg for a hundred miles. No issue just a temperature rise to around 210F from the normal 190F.
It got some body work and petty blue paint in 2009.
Anyone else with a car they have had for a long time?

We've put somewhere around 35,000 miles on the 440/4sp drivetrain that's in my son's 67 Dart GT convertible. The car still needs to be finished, but is a blast to drive.
