I have a 1974 challenger and i used a new metro parts D shaped weatherstrip and it was too high.

This is the weatherstrip reccomended. Anyone have a pic of a factory weaterstrip or a link to the one that is correct? thank yoU!

The catalogs need to get a clue. I had the same problem with a 73 Challenger. The Year One guy was a nice guy, but only knew what the catalog dictated. Short story? Use the strips spec'ed for a 70 Duster. I recently put them in a 71 Challenger. They seal and the lid closes. They may not be factory correct, but the ones sold by Metro, Super Soft and A&M SoffSeal seem to be all wrong.
