Fellas -
Picked up some reproduction heater hoses with the correct clamps.
Also have two different heater hose brackets and the thin metal heater hose straps; not sure what the end result is supposed to look like.
Can anyone help me out with pics of what is correct for a 1968 hemi Roadrunner?
Thanks!
Scott

Mine is a late June St.Louis car. This is the original heater hose bracket, a much thicker, brushed metal than the more common thin plated ones you see. I have seen a couple of different styles of this bracket, but this is the one that came on this car. When I got the car in '76, there were none of the metal straps present, so I did not put any back on. I would love to see a vintage pic that shows them!

Ok, I'm missing that hole where the heater hose bracket is bolted in. Is that hole hemi specific? My car is an originally a 383 car, Lynch Road, 25 September 1967 build.
Car has been repainted, so possible that the hole was filled in.
Thanks,
Scott

As a general rule - Yes, In 1968 it's Hemi only as most other V8's had the hoses routed over the valve cover. I'm not familiar with the slant six hose routing

Ok, I guess I'll get the drill out. If anyone has a good picture and/or measurements, that would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott

foward 14+ 3/8" from the firewall and 3+ 1/8" out from the vertical face of the inner fender. The thin bendable cinch strap is locted a couple inched foward of the fender stay to keep the hoses from chafing.
That's definitely the same bracket that's on my RR..mine had a bolt instead of a screw, but I've seen them with several different things mounting the bracket. I just put back what was originally there.

I'm guessing here that it was an assembly line thing. I recall always seeing the tab and buckle on top of the hoses, and if my memory serves right a majority have the hoop end toward the bolck and the tag end folded back toward the fender. I'd imagine it was the option of the installer as to the motions used. If I were you I'd strap them together and let people guess if it's right or wrong Here's MCR's method that does not correlate to my recollection
