I bought a glovebox light on e-bay. Put it in and when the glovebox door comes down the angle of the switch will not work with the door. The button binds up. also the actual light bulb does not center over the lens. Is any of this normal? I need to know if there were different styles. thanks

if it has a black plastic trim around the plunger button then its a later model generic with a longer plunger, the old originals had chrome trim and short plunger.

I have the chrome trim ring, but the plunger is quite long. Would it hurt to cut the plunger down?
