I just had the A/C recharged in the 300, and I makes a heck of a racket when I turn it on (it was starting to do this when I had it evacuated last October).

It sounds like the compressor is making a rattling noise, and since it is a 2 stoke engine I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but I have to wonder if maybe the oil is low in it

OR could it be the alternator? That is secured as best as it can be, but it is a replacement unit I threw in there a little over a year ago.

What say y'all?

neither myself... changed even the compressor for one I had storaged, but kept the "old" clutch/pulley assembly since bearing was recently replaced and NOISE WAS STILL THERE!!!

mounted the matching clutch/pulley with the compressor and VOILA, nopise was gone.

I still haven't dissasembled the old clutch/pulley assembly to check why is that noise or where it is really.
