Drilling throttle plates?

When i try to adjust my carb with the idle mixture screws i dont see much change in idle or vac. readings The carbs are a 6 pac set up do you guys think I should drill the throttle plates? The car seems to run fine and idle about 1100 just doesn't respond to the mixture screws. What should I do ? THANKS for any help EDDIE B

drop the idle to 800-900rpm. then see. 1100 is to high.

If you don't have any other threads or asked a similar question elsewhere, I apologize. Seems I've seen you ask this in another thread.
You likely have an issue in another system on the car, not in the fuel system. You're trying to band-aid it with the carb. IMO, your combo should idle in the 800-900 range with 10-11" vacuum.
And the "Dan" crack has to do with something else.

Drill as a last resort and you are not there yet. I was on the border of drilling plates and I was able to tune it out. Much happier now and no drilling.
