Thanks Mark, do you have the Schumacher Motor Mounts also...?????
Dougs makes a nice header....happy to see they fit well....I wonder how they fit with a 4-speed z-bar....?????
What oil pan are you running...????
Rickster
This is going to sound crazy, but the motor mounts are home made. Just took the solid mounts that were on the engine when we got it off the wrecking pile and modified them to fit the cross member. The procedure went something like this:
Drank a couple beers. Bolted the mounts to the engine, lowered the engine into the bay, bolted up the transmission, and then set the engine where it "looked right". Drank another beer (or 2). Tack welded the mounts in place. Removed engine and tranny and built mounting ears to weld to the K-member for the mounts to hook to. Drank another beer and re-installed everything.
The oil pan is also home made. It's just the stock pan with the sump extended a couple inches for more capacity. Oil pick-up tube was extended to match.
It's nice having a mad-scientist/mechanic/machinist/paint & body man for a brother! Thanks 6bblFLASH.
That would have taken me at least an 18 pack to accomplish, but the again when I think about it, I could have bought 5 or 6 cases for what mine cost....
I may do the same with the oil pan, hoping to pick up a nice mig welding pkg this weekend I found on craigslist

Only going to run a 27"tire and it will fit without modification....actually from my measuring a 30" tire will fit, just limited on width with the stock spring and no minitub

I'm not sure how much different your wheel well is on your car vs. a 69 Dart, but.....
My 69 Dart with a stock width 8.75", stock wheel well and spring location could fit a 15x7" Ramcharger wheel perfectly. Some wheel companies still carry them. I got mine for $45 a piece 6-8 years ago. A dog dish hubcap will cover 3" wheel studs too

Adam what size tire is that on the back of your car...????? I have done a ton of measuring and can actually get a 15" x 8" rim in there with a 4.675 b/s

What color paint are you thinking?
Not sure on the code yet, but the same color as the interior, I believe it's a medium or light blue metallic....need to find out, when I look at the paint chips online for 64 plymouth the light blue seems too light and the medium blue metallic seems too dark....
If you look at the color of vinyl seat trim in the above pic, it is very close to that
Rickster
Rickster, my vote goes for the paint that is on the car now. Love that old paint.

OH Hell No.....you'd have to see it up close, it looks like someone tried to paint it with a fence white wash from home depot with a brush and too much patina showing through.....it's definitely getting painted...lol

If you're referring to my sig pic, that's my Valiant(mini tubbed, 11.5x28 Hoosier). My 69 Dart had a 255/75 15 M/T drag radial. I don't have any pics of it with the steel rims or I'd post them.
Now that I think about it, my 8.75" had Moser axles which required B-body brakes. I think the axle was a 1/2" wider each side with the Moser's.

I'm planning on running either the M/T P255/60/15dr's or the Diamond-Back Redline Nitto's, more than likely the M/T's their easier on the pocket

OK, I meant 255/60. Not 255/75 I've run the Nitto 555's on a few cars and they work good. Mid 11's on a five year old set, lol. Haven't seen the Diamond Backs yet.

I went with Spitfire headers. They are shorties and a ton cheaper than TTIs, I think I paid $200 and had them coated for $75.

I have a set of used Spitfires (bought in spring of '02) that I ran on mine before stepping up to the Doug's back in '06. They worked a little better than the 340 Hi-Po exhaust manifolds that I had before, but weren't enough to get me anywhere near the 11's.
One piece of advice if you go that route: weld a flange or some kind of attachment bracket to them before getting them coated and installed. I had a heck of time getting the exhaust tubes to stay attached and sealed tight. Wish I would have welded a couple nuts to the sides before Jet-Hot coating them to use as draw-down points. Oh well, live and learn...

I used the Schumacher mounts and the Schumacher torque strut as well.
I plan on making up a strut myself, have a nice pair off the roadster we never used with heim joints and chrome
Nice looking cuda Wade That # for Harold is no longer a working #
I just passed up a set that were on fleabay that went for just under $300 uncoated....not a bad looking piece and I was impressed with the thickness of the flanges, but not too excited how the two tubes dump at a 90* angle into the collector, but for the money...okay I appreciate the help, but will go the full header route down the road, plenty of time to save up
