Hey guys, could ya'll tell me what(and how to get there)my engine temp should be on my street/strip small block 68 Cuda? Here's the combo
408 stock magnum block
Eddy Heads SDSS Stg. II port job, 57cc chamber heads
Static Compression is about 10.8:1
My temp climbs to about 205 driving around. At the strip, starting line temp is 180, and 210 at the end of the 1/4. I have the original brass radiator, although an extra row was added, now 3 row. Black Max electric fan. 160 thermostat. Brand new NAPA water pump(engine driven).Added water wetter, and that helped a little, but I was told that my engine should be much cooler. I'm also worried my tranny is getting hot as well, 4000 stall converter. Any ideas or suggestions? Oh yeah, I live in Texas, and yes it gets hot, anywhere from 94 to 100 on average.

Really should put a good cross flow aluminum radiator in it.

Electric water pump would also help (both power & cooling) if you are having issues with it @ low speed (idle etc) The electric pump, pumps same volume all time & usually cool better in car that has to idle in traffic alot & at stop lights etc.
