I have a MP.528 mech. cam sitting on the shelf. Always had a hyd. cam in my car and I'd like to try this cam.
This is a street car,360,kb flat tops,rpm intake,tti step headers,hughes stage 1 iron heads,750 dp,tko-600 5 speed,391 gear. I'm pulling
out a edelbrock rpm cam 234/244 .488/.513. It runs
OK with the rpm cam, just want to try something else.
I put this motor together 14 years ago. What center line do you guys install this thing at? Thanks Mike

I'd just follow the instructions from MP for that cam. That will be a pretty healthy cam in a 360. I've run that cam in a bunch of big block motors and it is a killer cam for street performance. It will probably have a rough idle in a 360. In a 440 it idles fairly smooth but pulls hard to 6200 rpm.

FWIW I had one in the 440-6. Ran good, I ran my lash tighter than spec. The .028-.032 was very noisey so I snugged them down to .022-.024 cold. You do know you end up w/ a cam in the 500 lift range after you take out the lash???

Just a thought, but if you're going to go to all the work of installing a new cam and lifters in the car, I'd call Hughes or one of the other Mopar specialist shops and ask them to recommend a cam for your set-up. That way, at least you will be optimizing the cam for your combination. Put in a new tru-roller timing chain and lifters and have your distributor advance curve optimized if you haven't already.

I ran that cam in my junk yard 360 installed straight up. Pushed my Valiant to mid-12's with iron heads and full exhaust. Great little cam for a street car.

Got one in an X headed 340. Installed it at 107. It's got 2* advance in the intake already at a 110 ICL with 112 LSA

It runs really good.

I've got one in my 318, no idea how it was installed but it runs great. Going to swap it into my 408 stroker when it's ready and see what it does...
