I was going to drive my 1964 polara to work today and all it did was crank over and never even fired at all. It is a 383 and converted to an electronic ignition. It has always been really reliable but all of the sudden today it would not come to life. Was forced to drive my dumb honda civic instead. I am going to swap out the orange box on the firewall and see if that does anything. Any other ideas would be awesome and appreciated. Hopefully it will be a quick fix.

Check the ballast resistor to see if its blown. Not a bad idea to carry a NEW spare one of those puppys.

I just came in from the garage. I changed the orange brain box on the firewall. The polara came to life.Next time I am at the junk yard I am going to get a few backups. The ballast resistor was fine. Thanks

Maybe tighten the gap of the pick up to .004 to .006 as some give a wonky signal with a big gap
