They were available with both. I have seen information that the ridge started mid-'72. My '76 Duster trunklid has the ridge. My '72 Demon was flat.

I agree with Skeez My 71 Demon is flat.
I agree too, somewhat anyway. SOME of the 71's were flat, and SOME were ridged, you got one with a flat one that's all. Same applies to 71 Dusters.
This is a 1971 Duster/Twister, Scheduled Production Date July 9,1971. That is original paint in the picture, the trunk lid has never been removed. Notice which lid it has.
My GY3 1971 340 3 speed Duster (Scheduled Production Date October 03,1970) has it's original flat style trunk lid.

..1970's were flat ..late 1971 were ridged and 1972 were ridged. Mopar put the ridge in late 1971 as a production change because it added strength to such a large flat panel. People were closing the trunk lids by pushing them down on the center, rear part of the lid and some were buckling, denting. BTW Scott my Duster was built on July 9th too! #452494

Hmmm, interesting My 71(plain jane 318 auto)Duster has a flat lid, but it does have the provisions for the Go-Wing brackets. Does your ridged deck lid have those? I'm just curious, cuz I've never taken notice if the ridged ones had them, I just always assumed that they did'nt.
