Pressing on some keepers for the 8-3/4 axle

I am using the "green bearings" which eliminate the adjusters.

Before I took the old bearings/keepers, I measured 2 inches from the axle housing flange to the actual axle end.

Now that I am pressing on these bearings, I have kept the 2 inch space there. However, I still see where I can press the bearing another half inch or so.

My question is....do I leave it where it is, or are you supposed to press it all the way on?

I can post some pictures later. I have never used these green bearings before, and I don't want a literal peg leg rear end on the highway when an axle slips out because I did it wrong.

Press the bearing all the way to the step in the axle flange.

The distance from the inside edge of the 5-hole retainer and the outside edge of the axle flange should measure 2.4" for 5 x 4 1/2" bolt pattern axles.
