Anyone have pics? can't find pics on the web. Can you use them with other heads? They are a cast valley plate with removable insp. cover. Thanks.

Allen Here's a novel idea, let's not throw a bunch of parts at the car hoping it will fix the problem and instead spend a little time diagnosing it first. Life was a little easier when I was just a wrench.

Hi, thanks health Services, but the first picture was Andy F's RB only plate. The second was a completely solid plate with no access. The third was a plate that was for an RB engine as well. Yes I looked at Hughes. The question I am asking about is INDY IND400-6R 400 Block Reomavable Cover. You had as much luck trying to find a picture as I did. I listed a specific part Number. The RB plates apparently don't interchange with the B plates, unless Andy F can address that. I searched far and wide before I wasted anyone's time. I'm looking for a real life picture. Thank you for trying to help, but I did research this before I posted.

You must use their aluminum heads.
I used the RB plate on my 440 with Eddy heads. There was a 1/8" gap front to back. The heads did not meet the plate. I had to seal the gap with RTV.
That was Indy's solution. Of course, they suggested that I buy their heads but those bunch of monkeys can kiss my coconuts! I'll never do business with them again.

Andy F makes a damn NICE piece, but for RB only. I was hoping with the popularity off the stroked 400 that some one would step up and offer the same. I was hoping Andy would maybe cchime in and say if his would would work with the low deck as well, if you could bolt it on while the block is being machined?

Here are a couple of pictures from a 383 stroker build using indy heads. Is this the lifter valley cover you're looking for?

Shouldn't it look just like the RB cover only smaller??? Why the need for a picture?

Nice pictures! That is my cover, not the Indy version. Indy's cover is cast, mine is machined from billet.

I've made low deck covers before as you can see from the picture but it isn't a regular product. I probably have one sitting on the shelf somewhere if you really want one.

Those 'inspection covers' are the dumbest thing ever. Can anyone explain what good it does to remove 4,000 little screws to remove the inspection cover when you could just remove 3 screws at either end of the valley to remove the whole plate?

Uh, the whole plate is secured by 3 screw/bolts on each end and the cylinder heads capture the plate. Additionally the plate is sealed to the cylinder heads with a bead of sealant which you apply before installing the heads. That is the reason for the removable inspection plate so you dont have to remove the heads to get to the lifters; just remove the intake and the cover.....

Ahhh...I was thinking of the Hemi I had where the plate was not held in place by the heads.
