I have a real bad oil leak in my smallblock.
After a couple minutes, it comes pouring out from the top of the back of the engine.
I haven't been able to look good enough back there. All I can think of it a bad intake manifold gasket, ot something at the oil pressure switch fitting.

Also, if I overfilled the pan by 2 quarts, would that do any damage. I don't remember how much oil I put in last time. I put in 2 jugs. so it was either 8 or 10 quarts. I have a deep moroso pan on it.

I been diagnosing the leak and I changed i've had the filter off twice and this last time a new filter. (i originally thought the leak was the filter housing gasket) and the level is not 1/4 below the full mark on the dipstick. So now I'm wondering if I threw 10 quarts in and it's an 8 quart pan. I didn't buy the pan, it was on the car, so I'm not 100% sure how much it holds.

Any suggestions.
Thanks,
Nick

Well, I'm thinking no matter what size the pan is your still going to fill it to the full mark on the dipstick. That said it would be my guess you have a leak in the areas that you described.

I was able to get someone to fire the car up while I climbed in the engine compartment with a mirror, it looks to be the oil pressure switch.
