...... Me thimks I have a one or two going bad in my daily-driver '90 Caravan. It tracks fine but it seems like there is a tire WAY out-of-balance at-speed. I swapped tires ...same issue.

NEVER done this repair me-self before. Are these bolt-in or pressed-in bearings? ...and where do you buy GOOD ONES ? .... or isn't there a diff on these?

Does AZ offer a lifetime warranty ? ...how about Napa ? ... or would just ordering a set on eBay be the ticket?

They are pressed in bearings. You must press the bearings in the knuckle then press the hubs in.

do you feel it in the steering wheel?
make sure it isn't warped rotors
they will wobble like an unbalanced tire.
Keep things simple when you can.

If it is bearings do you have to remove the knuckle from the car and how involved is it?

Is this a machine-shop-only operation ? ... or can you make/rent/borrow(at AZ) the tool to do this?

I don't think could be the rotors.... it will actually get BETTER(less "wobble") when you apply the brakes.

Does this seem worse under acceleration? Engine mounts would be my 1st guess.

Wheel bearing won`t give you a tire out of balance feeling condition. They will growl/grind when the start going and the noise will change intensity when you steer left-right while moving. Something else that can give you that wobbly sensation is a bad C-V joint. Does the wobbly feeling change when you back off the throttle at speed?

Oh yeah they will wobble.Easy test is lift the wheel and grab the wheel at top and bottom. If it moves they are bad kind of like a bad ball joint. They do make a tool to do them on the car but Ive never used them. That and when you get them that old they are tough to press out most times.Advanced here has the good bearings and usually the hub itself is also bad.I used to do a lot of those a few years ago.Unless you have a good press and some stout pieces to set it up a shop usually is best to have them pressed.Rocky

wheel bearings won't give a tire balance fealing. If it shakes more under acceleration, and less when decelerating, it will be a cv shaft gone bad at the inner joint. A bearing will usualy growel, and the pitch will usually change when you turn the steering wheel slightly. It will get louder one direction and quieter the other direction.

THX ferr da chat so far .....

When changing the tires ....I did not grab the tire at a 180 diff and push/pull.

Wouldn't a CV joint make more noise if you get on and off the throttle ...and clunk ? BTW .. This is a 5 speed stick.

Transmission mount is the FIRST thing to check. You will know when it's a wheel bearing. The Mopar ones are EASY. They can be had as a complete unit that unbolts.

The bearings can come complete with the hub but unless you get a knuckle they arent bolt in.The old ones like he has are press. My nephew had an old caravan and both were bad.It would shake like a bad tire. They were real bad.He got 2 knuckles at the bone yard for like 40 bucks. It was a beater that he took hunting and didnt want to spend the $$$ for new ones.Rocky

Driver side mount. We've had a complete collapse of the passenger side (engine) without a shake, but let the trans mount wear out and the shake is really bad.

We have done the bearing and hub assembly on an early (84-ish four lug car) and on an 87 Daytona. Both were easy to replace bolt-in units. I never looked at how to replace just the bearings. The Daytona got a junkyard part, but the early car got one from a parts store.

Replaced one on my 91 Daytona. It was a bolt in unit. Very easy job.
