this may be a first ...

i am at a loss for words .

guess who'll be getting a call from me in the morning ... should i call collect ?

i myself still can't remember where any member of this team blamed a hughes cam for the failures .

the last time i talked to dave he was more than cordial to me ????

when i did speak tyo him he said the blaming was on moparchat.com , i looked there and couldn't find anything as something like that was not on MOPARTS.COM ?????

i'm going to have to lock this very shortly and move it out of sight before the threats of lawsuits start ...

thanks to all those involved in the EM contest and for the support of our members ...

running up my post count some more .

this right here is all you need to see who you are dealing with.

[ Please note, if you have purchased parts from Summit, PAW, Jegs, etc. and have questions or problems with them, call them, not us. They owe you the information, they took your money, not us. We will be happy to help you with parts you purchased from us. We realize that they cannot help you, but you made the decision to buy from them, so you must live with the problems. ]

i guess the guy knows that you are going to have problems. why else would he have to write something like this. like he didn't get paid for the product that was sold.

i have talked with dave before. the first time he was helpfull but after that it was like i was bugging him. he did not seem like he wanted to help unless he had my credit card #.

the thing that blows me away is the fact that he seems to think he can make it with out customers. WE are the people that help him stay alive. well we were.
with out the customer you have NO business.
i guess only time will tell.

i just completely read his , i don't even know what to call it ...

what a load of crap .

we didn't find the lifter bore propblem till after , not before as he claims .

by the time i called him the engine was already torn apart and on its way to be repaired . i took full responsibility for the failure and told him right up front that we did not bush the block as he suggested , he didn't have to drag nothing out of me .

and then amatuers ??? most of the guys that did the work make a living at doing what was done ....

i had every intention of getting this thing back together and on the dyno again ... now , why even bother , to praise this engine anymore with his cams would be pointless ...

The way I see it is if Dave was so smart he should have said bush the lifter bores to start with, since the cam is cutting edge and pushing the bounderies. I never heard the engine builders slam him or blame the cam,if fact many figured he was the man to use because of his knowledge. JohnRR I am impressed,I thought you would go off on this.

John, lock it if you must, but I dont think that is the answer.

Lawsuit? I have to laugh at that, he posted insulting material (implied to name Moparts.com) - he has no reason to sue US because people read his note (posted on his site) which therefore cost HIMSELF buisiness.

I think a LOT of people can learn from this topic. David, and other business owners, let alone us "amatures" ... especially the heavy-hitting amatures who did the porting, flowing, assembling, calculating, etc.

It would be kind of like having a kid stick a "kick me" sticker on his own clothing, and then bitchinmoanincryin when people kick him.

John, why lock the thread?
He (Hughes) is the one who threw down the gaunlet. I haven't seen anything here that could be construde as anything than consumers voicing their ill feeling toward a supplier who has maligned them. I haven't seen too much in the way of name calling just anger at someone who spoke out of turn.
OBTW I wonder if (not standing up for him)That maybe he didn't read what he's protesting, but got it from someone else, re: bad cams. There have been a lot of bad Mopar Perf cams reported lately. Maybe confusing two issues.

well you and i posted at the same time .

he did say that we should bush the block . when i spoke to him dram was on vacation and i went and spoke with the shop also involved about getting someone lined up to do it in the beginning while dan was gone .

the shop larry felt comfortable doing the jod did NOT have the mopar fixture so it was out .

after that we discussed it wit hthe team members and it was a 50/50 split on doing it or not doing it . dan had used a number of hughes cams and never had a failure and this block was a RUNNING engine with a lot of miles on it .

i also have a picture of the engine id pad NO WHERE WAS IT NOTED THAT THIS BLOCK HAD OVERSIZE LIFTER BORES and also his claim of .004 to .008 ???? where the heck did he get that , i said .002 on many and a couple that might .003 or .004 at the most .

maybe i'm the one that should be contacting a laywer ??????

That would be my suggestion, if things go that far, which I hope they do not.

Why do some of the "biggest" people act like spoiled 2 year olds when they are well known? It seems David Hughes behaved rather childish about the outcome of the Engine Masters to me.... His own dang fault if he loses business because he is "such a nice guy"

Hey Dave...go inflate your flow bench numbers by an extra 10% more than they are already inflated...too bad you just lost a bunch of future sales with your big mouth.

Damn Amatures anyways...who needs them?...lol.

Well, I didn't really follow too much of the Enginemasters, mainly 'cause I knew it was way out of my league of understanding, let alone being able to help ( after all, I'm an amateur)......I just thought it was cool that an "internet chat room" could actually get together to pull off something like that........

Anyway, when I was trying to decide the cam for my 451, I pretty much had it narrowed down to the comp 275 or hughes 3038......previous mentions of Hughes' attitude drove me to the Comp cam......a decision I'm now very glad I made....However, my upcoming 318 build was going to have a hughes cam in it for sure....until now........I'll keep their website in my favorites only to see how long it takes before it goes down..
