If you have bucket seats, there will be a pair of screws on the bottom of the seat back, where it bends under. Remove those screws and pull down on the upholstered panel. Once it's off, you'll see 4 hooks that secure it in place. These hooks must hook properly when re-installing the back panel. This is a fairly simple process and you shouldn't have any trouble. Best of luck, Bill

Maybe this should say at top now, blind squirrels even find nuts once in a while,(as cab has said at times)it was quite simple once I quit worrying about messing it up and just started tinkering, now I should say who wants to know how to remove seatbacks on split bench seat on superbee or road runner for 69.It was so simple I feel humbled by it.Everything looks welded and pinned but there was a washer that holds it on like on the cheap axles on some wagons and carts. Now where do I get new washer for it?ha ha

My 69RR Buckets were so bad the backs were long gone, any chance of pictures of these 'hooks' or the install process? I assume we can make the hooks or does anyone sell them, please? THANKS for your post.

The serrated washers that grip on the end shafts to retain the seat backs are available at good hardware stores. ACE has them, probably Lowes and Home Depot too. Just measure the shaft diameter so you get the right size.

THANKS for your kind reply, yep thats my problem I don't have either the serrated washers nor the end shafts they were long gone. Plymouth Service Manual is zilch help.

I have a call into a vendor here "Steves Parts" since it's OEM, if he gets me some I'll post pics here. Thanks Again.

So the seat back pivot shafts are missing? They are welded on to the frame.

I normally make my own hoohs and pop rivot em to the new panel, that I also make. You need to have the bent metal strip for the bottom of the panel, that secures the panel to the bottom of the seat back with two screws. I'll dig up a hook or two, take a few pics and post. Bill

Steves Parts is sending me a set for both buckets and I hope to use the instructions here to get the seat backs attached. Will post pics.

I did a search but couldn't find anything, probably so simple I should have been able to figure it out (but still couldn't).

THANKS MOPARTS.COM FOR BAILING ME OUT AGAIN.

Well, as it turns out, I don't have any to photograph. All I have is the one I use as a pattern, and it, of course, is now flat. If you need any assistance though, send me a PM, with your number, and I'll call you. I'm always happy to help. Best of luck, Bill
