my old 67 w/ a 440 weighed 3850 w/ me (180) and a 1/2 tank of gas as raced. I'd think your 383 will like the 4.30's better. They really start making power over 3k. If it was a 440 I'd say 4.10's. Drive it like a rental!

I would start out with 4.30's and run it, then see what your mph is you might need more gear than that like 4.56 or 4.88's. Try these calculators http://www.wallaceracing.com/Calculators.htm they might help you with your decision.

If you are not driving it a ton on the street... 4.56. Those 383s will spin pretty good.

Good Choice The cam and 4speed
WILL LIKE the 4.30's on the track. 13's should be no problem, mid twelves, maybe, with a little bit
of suspension tricks and FINE tuning !!!

Our 67 Dodge Coronet is a street/strip car as well.
It's a 440 30 over and runs 10.90's at 124mph
We run a 29x9 tire, I had Hoosiers at one point that were 30x9's but they still measured 29x9 with 4.56 gears. 1/4 traps at 6700, I shift at 6400. 55mph is usually the max cruising speed we prefer. We don't cruise it very far 10-20 miles or so. 4.30's would be fine but if you think about changing to the 56's they will be fine.

Enjoy and put some pics up!
