Well after rebuilding my a body floor shift steering column I think I've collapsed the steering shaft on accident trying to reinstall it (found the nylon screws I had inserted to keep them together at the bottom of the cage).

Realistically, is there any reason why I can't install it as is? Besides the fact I might have to pull the lower shaft out a little bit to reach the steering box, I can't think of a reason why it wont still work. I'd rather not have to tear this thing apart again if I can avoid it.

It will work but it may rattle over bumps a little.
