Pull the converter bolts. Then try and turn the engine. If it turns then the tranny is the problem probably a broken converter or locked up pump. Anything is possible
Career best 8.02 @ 169 at 3050# and 10" tires small block power.

try rotating the crankshaft both ways with all of the spark plugs out,it might have spun a rod bearing, I hope not Let us know what you find

That pretty much descirbes the last pass I made on my motor.
Look closly in the oil to see if you have any glitter like I did.
Or cut the filter open

From the symptoms, a spun rod bearing. The rod let loose after the spun bearing. Luckily for you it went out the pan and not the block. Thats good news. Also the fact that it shut down right away is good news. Thats my Guess, a actual teardown will let you know for sure. mike
