How far from the end of the header do you weld the nipple for a evac setup

Most want it located right after the 4 in to 1 junction area.

Put the end of the nipple about 3" past the end of the
primary tubes IF you dont run a O2 sensor.... O2 sensor
should be UP stream of the evac

Ok headers are already on car and welding the nipple in on top of collector will be a job. Would it matter if I welded them on the side say at 3 and 9 oclock postions

Don't know that it makes a difference circumference wise. The Moroso instructions show them mounted in the crevice ( and there are 4 to choose from )of the collector just aft of the 4 in to 1 junction at 45 degree angle. Assume they consider that a low pressure area on most headers.

Where did you get the idea of 12 o clock the sides are

If you are going to try inside , make real sure that the transmission won't interfere too.
Don't ask me how I know that one.

I have never seen them on top... too hard to get to
