Take out the stat, leave the stat housing off & fill it back up w water, start it & rev it and see if the water is pushed out of the intake by combustion pressure.

if the water is pushed out by combustion pressure means what? good or bad? I would image this would be bad.

It means a cracked head or a blown head gasket. Either way the heads will have to come off.

What about a bad radiator cap not venting at the correct pressure? The cap raises the boiling pressure 3.25 deg. above 212 deg. for every pound the cap is rated for! So 16 pound cap, engine would boil over 264 deg or higher....Matt
