I have a set of TRW 2355 pistons that we are going to use in a spare 440 motor (these are the older style with the 4 valve reliefs). Does anyone know if a MP 590 cam will have enough piston to valve clearance with these pistons? (haven't bought the cam yet) The valve reliefs are not that deep. Since the pins are aleady pressed on the rods, fly cutting deeper valve reliefs will be a pain. The heads are ported Max Wedge so they should flow enough for that cam. Thanks!

Yes plenty of clearance, degree the cam in the motor and they work well togeather.
I built a motor with the same pistons with a little bigger cam.

There are better cams though.

Thanks for the reply. I'm open to suggestions, but other cams that I was looking at don't have ship dates until the end of this month. I want to try and get this motor together in the next two weeks.

Piston deck height, heads CC, head gasket thickness, cam lobe seperation angle, installed cam intake lobe center and valve opening at 10 degree BTDC to 12 to 15 degrees ATDC will determine how much piston to valve clearances you will have I have read on here that there are two different grinds, versions of the Mopar "590" solid lifter cam The lobe seperation angle being the major differences, hopefully someone that know more about that cam will chime one way or the otyer on that
