Do any Moparts members know where i can purchase a couple of bottles of this McKay assembly lube from any online vendors?
Or can anyone get it for me, that i then can buy it from?
I have been using this product forever, on brake calipers, master cylinders, wheel cylinders, that i rebuild in my line of work.
Come to find out that i can't find it anymore in my area since numerous parts stores have gone out of business, or got bought out, that i have delt with in the past. And i can't seem to find anywhere where i can get it online.
Thank's a lot for any information or help.
My e mail address is hemi71x@aol.com

Thanks: I was able to get a couple of bottles of the stuff at the CAR QUEST chain of parts stores.
But once their inventory is sold off, i don't think there will be any more.
Next time i guess i will look for, and use something else.

I have used the Mckay product for many years. Recently I have been using this new product from Wilwood. It works juxt as well, and is about the same cost as the Mckay stuff.

Thank's for the heads up on that product.
Just found this product too, by Raybestos that should be readily available, as they are such a large company.

Is there any advantage using assembly oil instead of brake fluid?

Snoopy:
For me, assembly lube always seemed to be more of a "slippery" type of product in the reassembly of brake components.
Plus it doesn't dry out if your not going to be putting the part back in service right away, and it might be on the shelf for awhile.
Plus, the lube can be used on lots of other rubber parts that brake fluid never will come in contact with.
Maybe in the long run, it's what a mechanic feels most comfortable with using in his line of work.
Personal preference, i suppose.
