had this suregrip in my car for a couple of years. Alot of gear clunk when shifting into gear. I believe someone ran it without lube. looks like one of the gears welded itself to the center shaft. this sheared the staking pin and the shaft began to spin with the gears. ate alot of material off suregrip housing. can it be repaired ?

Allen Here's a novel idea, let's not throw a bunch of parts at the car hoping it will fix the problem and instead spend a little time diagnosing it first. Life was a little easier when I was just a wrench.

It's toast, but on the bright side it would be a good time to upgrade to a clutch type sure-grip.
