Not exactly sure what you are trying to ask...But I am going to go out on a limb here...
It is not uncommon to see a three month difference in casting date of an engine block versus build date of a car.
My car was an ordered car and has a scheduled build date of Feb 22 1968.The interior was built Feb 17.Engine was cast January 27.(I do have proof)Just an example.Not all cars were built the day on the tag.It was a "scheduled" day after all.
If a car was ordered new early the engine can have a 1966 casting date on it since the '67 models were out by August '66.Again just an example.

My correct 67 383 has a casting date of Sept. 66.

The casting date is important, but not nearly as important as the assembly date. Most cars had engines that were assembled and installed shortly after they were built, a few days to a couple weeks in most cases. What confuses the issue is that the TRUE build date of the cars is not known, only the SCHEDULED assembly date, so, if a car was scheduled to be built on say October 12, 1966, but was ACTUALLY built on October 17th 1966, it could have recieved and engine assembled on October 14th (2 days after the SPD) and be 100% original and correct. See how it can get confusing?

scott , my bee is EXACTLY like that , SPD is 2/10/69 , the engine was ASSEMBLED 2/11/69 , casting date is about a month before the assembly date .
the 3 month window i think is an old wives tale started by the survivor corvette weenies ...
