to get quench with flat top piston, is it posible to mill to get close chamber? will it weaken the head?

Most w2's can be milled to close chamber, but check the deck thickness first. The intake will need cut a good bit to match the heads. Also, you'll be around 13:1 compression if you mill the heads that much. - Andy

I have a pair of W-2s cut down to closed chambers
no problems.... I believe I took .090 off
