I can't find the ac drain tube on my v8 truck... It's getting the floormats wet, can I not just drill a hole in the ac evap box and put in my own tube through the firewall? This seems to be a huge problem on Dakotas..

There is a teardrop look to the vent/heater box under the pass carpet . you can pull it back and see it from the top. drill a small hole in the very center of the teardrop area and stick a coathanger thru and it will unclog the drain that goes into the frame rail then just a piece of tape over the plastic you drilled the hole in. At least thats how I remember it. I believe there was a T.S.B. on it.

IIRC the deletion of the tube was the beancounters way of saving a nickel on every truck out the door. You will need what is known as a "donkey d*ck" and I **believe** the p/N is 5264688 Tube. It has been awhile so please forgive me if there is an error.

Don't drill that hole. Put the donkey thing on. Water runs back along the outside of the drain tube and into the passenger compartment. Thats the reason for the extension.

I took mine in to the dealer and they fixed it for free. Very common issue on those I guess.
