New at this induction thing...obviously. Have gotten some great advice from Josh here on the board. I called Procharger today to price a D1SC and was told a COMPLETE system which included the bt carb-water injection-bov-bracketry-etc. would cost $6850. Really? I must have heard the price for a ... Chevrolet .. motor last time I asked around as to cost. Somehow I had it in my mind that I would be looking at/around $3200. SO, my question to you guys, is the $6850 a realistic number for a low deck D1SC set up? Holy Cow, I might be driving a Camaro pretty soon.

I would make a call to the supercharger store, but that seems like a pretty close price. I was back and forth on the deal, and decided since I could fab my own headers it was cheaper to do the Turbo deal....

I think paxton sells a supercharger kit around the price range you had in mind, but a much smaller head unit than what you were probably looking at.

Also, you can find used tubos/blowers for pretty cheap! But just like anything else, be careful.

I bought my Powerdyne (for my 2000 Dakota) for $800. It only makes 6lbs of boost on my 5.9 but it works like a champ and gave me an extra 100 rwhp!

Total price including the blower, SCT, new injectors, new fuel pump, data logger, map sensor is about $2,000.

The turbo for my 94 Dak will be a used unit from someone that went to a bigger turbo. Same with the injectors, throttle body and even FAST unit!

I built my original TT440 with mostly stock parts for $2800. That includes the engine rebuild kit from Summit, all machine work, hybrid turbos, Tial wastegates, and custom cam.
I built the headers on the cheap.

If you can fabricate turbos are far cheaper. Good eye candy as well.

11.67@118 1.88 60' with only 7-8 lbs of boost. Turbocharged, megasquirted, 407 BB, 440 source heads, roller cam, 9:1 comp. http://s292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/beansgracie
