When this saga last left off, I was all stoked 'cause my pile almost hit 500rwhp on Jake's dynojet. That was in like 2006, after I changed a bunch of stuff. The feeling on the board at that time was it probably picked up somewhere between 30 and 40 HP. Comparisons to prior tests were impossible because the prior test was done on a different dyno (which is the last time I do that). Anyway after that I didn't do much of anything except barely street drive it. Finally last week I got a wild hair...fired up the old rusty pile o crap, fresh 20w50 and Dexron III, timing is at 38 degrees, found the spark plugs are getting rusty on the outside (they are like 8 years old after all) but look like new on the inside Noticed the liquid filled fuel pressure gauge is still inaccurate junk just like when I first put it on...still need to get rid of that stupid thing.... checked the lash, etc. It seems good to go. I'm going to shake it down and run some fresh 93 octane swill through it later this week on the street, and with any luck will make it to the "International dirt pits and a cornfield" strip (aka The big L) this weekend to see if I can either blow it up, make a fool of myself or run a halfway decent ET. I'm sure it'll take awhile to shake off the cobwebs..... Here's the ancient chassis dyno printout(though I'm not sure it means anything anymore): Don't ask me what it weighs.....I've had it to Milan about 18 thousand times and it's always "the scales are broken". Or "nobody is here to work the scales" or something to that effect It weighs whatever a rusty b body with 'glass hood, aluminum wheels and no back seat weighs, I guess. What'll it run?

Hard to say what it will make now but I will say that you put down a bit more than my heap did..........My 9-sec 3150lb. dart showed 495-495 tq and hp...... Good thing I only really used it to dial in the timing and carb or what a dissapointment that could be for someone chasing big numbers. Good luck either way.
72 Dart 470 n/a BB stroker street car `THUMPER`...Check me out on FB Dominic Thumper for videos and lots of carb pics......760-900-3895.....

Thanks Dom. 10s would make me happy, but if nobody wants to stick their neck out that far that's ok
it's been so long I'll take any kind of clean pass I can get, it's overdue for a new baseline.
I was looking for lean holes and wanted to try carb spacers during that test. The number was cool to see also, made me happy, but it just happened. Was mostly looking for trends on a couple things.

Zippy, There is a big group of us going up to Stanton (Mid-Michigan Motorplex) this week if you want to come. Might be a better option then the Lapeer "Test and Spin" I think DVW and I are the only ones on the board, but there are 5 cars going for sure (one chevy). We'll be there all 3 days (Sat, Sun, Mon.) Just staying at the track, plenty of beer and hot dogs to go round...

Wow, that sounds great Scott. Thanks for the invite! If I had a trailer I'd go for sure...until then I'm going to stay a lil' closer to home. Appreciate it though.

I'm sure it'll MPH for the 10's now.
That's kinda what I was thinking...It should really go over 120mph once I get the hang of it again. Whether it hooks up is anyone's guess.
Now that you brought up tires...I forgot there's something new to try there. I usually street drive on Nitto drag radials I've never tried 'em at the strip...maybe I should?
I've also got a pair of DS-2s on 4" wheels I have never tried before, taller and lighter than the radial stuff that is usually on it. The front runners should pick it up somewhat all by themselves, shouldn't they?
Hmmmm
Currently shooting for Sunday....

Years ago on my 440 I replaced my 1 ¾ header to a 2 inch on my 440 and it was worth 2 tenths. I think it should dip into the very high 10’s once you get it sorted out. Good luck, and keep us posted.
Hmm maybe I should replace my 1-3/4 headers. Ron

ron, it made next to no difference on my car going from headman 1 3/4 to hooker 1 7/8.

Doug, shooting for Lapeer Sunday.
Last time I went to Milan I got a whole two passes about 6 hours apart, and no water to do a burnout in. It just wasn't worth it. I'd rather stay home and watch TV than do that again.
