I just picked upa e-body convert that has a power top. My question is concerning raising the top. The car has no drive train in it, can I just install a batt and raise the top without doing any damage?
Thanks!

Assuming you have been responsible and insulated any dangling hot leads under the hood and dash.

Letting the magic smoke escape from the wires is never good.

Down to just a blue car now.

You should also be able to just remove the clips that hold the pistons to the top and then raise it by hand. Instead of using the battery.
