What holds the gas pedal to the floor? When I lift the carpet up it won't lift up by the pedal, looks like a white square piece of foam or something under the carpet.Any tips or should I just give it a good tug?

two nuts under the floorboard that you can access under the car

Allen Here's a novel idea, let's not throw a bunch of parts at the car hoping it will fix the problem and instead spend a little time diagnosing it first. Life was a little easier when I was just a wrench.

I don't know what year you are working on but it should have two screws holding it down.
