I run 275/60/15 BFGs on the back of our 73 Barracuda. They are mounted on factory 15x8 Ramcharger steelies with dog dish caps. They are a little tall for my taste but fit very well with no rubbing anywhere. Front has 235/60/15 on stock 15x7 steelies.

IMO on a 7" rim a 255 60 15s on the rear and 235 60 15s on the front.. then I would buy a much better tire...

I am truckless..

I like P215/65R15 on 15X7s. They look like P235/60R15 but are a little taller tire. P275/60R15 on 15X8s with 4.5 inch backspacing on the rear.

The backspacing for an 8" rim at 4.5 is the secret to make it fit properly, essentially keeping the factory centerline...example: with the factory 7" rim, the backspacing is 4". Further, if someone wanted to run a 9" rim, the correct backspacing should become 5" to retain the factory centerline. I have 16x10" wide rims on my Challenger T/A which I use for E/SP SCCA Solo II atocross competition (running Hoosier A6 275x45x16 tires) and the rims (Centerline "X" series forged aluminum race rims) hace only a 5" backspace.. so, they do extend outwards toward the fenders 1/2" too much, but then I've flushed my fender lips and slightly pulled them out to still appear original (flairing is allowed with class rules, though I chose nothing too extreme)... and even with a super-stiff suspension, and lowered, the tires do not hit my fenders .. about 1/2" clearance overall. I believe the 70-74 Cudas have slightly less fender room as compared to the Challengers (in my opinion and have seen/compared).

If no one noticed, this is an old thread that got booted up when a new member decided to try and be funny.

I used a 68-70 B-body Dana , springs moved in 1" on each side.

rears - 15x8's with 4.25" backspacing and 295-50-15's
ft's are 15x7's with 235-60-15's

Torsion bars have been cranked down since this picture was taken

Not to hijack, but how do the rears fit? Any rubbing? Did you have to move the springs in or do any modifications to get them to fit?
