have new engine and dash wiring harnesses. put them on as is,or do the MADD bypass thing? of course altering them will foil any chance of returning them even for something else being wrong, and they arent cheap. small block chally if that makes any dif.

Plug it in as is, except bypass the ammeter with either a shunt or just put both wires on one post.

If everything works, do the bulkhead mod if you still want to.

Mark the wire on the bulkhead for easier id if you wish to do it later on.

Allen Here's a novel idea, let's not throw a bunch of parts at the car hoping it will fix the problem and instead spend a little time diagnosing it first. Life was a little easier when I was just a wrench.

I bought new factory type wiring though year one. Unless you are want an all factory look it is not the way to go.

If I were doing it again I would use a painless kit with modern fuse blocks and better wires. If the factory stuff is still new I would return them and go with a painless system. Save some cash that way too.

One thing I like about the factory style harness is that you can use the FSM to help get hookups right and trouble shoot if necessary.

I have ran the YO harness with electronic ign and late model VR on several cars. I bypass the amp meter and run a shunt.

No problems.

If you want to do the bulkhead job, run it first like was said to make sure it works OK. The YO harnesses are nice pieces.

I want my fair share
