I think the MP rods are made of cheese painted grey, once the engine warms up they mushroom over at the cam end but as cheese is quite soft you can still pull them out, if they were steel that would be impossible.

I bet you will have no issues with that rod! Richard knows what is good and what is bad when it comes to factory parts.
