I'm looking to improve the shift in our 64 Dodge. It's a stock 71 440 . The trans has been rebuilt a few years ago and apparently had had the internals from a newer 727 installed. I think maybe the front pump assembly. Are the regular 727 kits the same as the old cable shift units ? Any suggestions as to who offers a good kit, I want a nice jolt when this thing hits second . Thanks, Dave.

Parts are the same. Try

Go to the Chrysler rear wheel drive section and you will find shift kits.
