In earlier 68-70 B bodies and E body cars, there is a metal plate that you need that will bolt to the firewall. Maybe somebody else will know for sure on your model car if that plate is needed.

On the cars listed, it is sort of a reducer that takes up the extra space that power brakes need.

I want my fair share

Yes, that plate is needed. Otherwise, there will be a hole in the firewall for hot air to get into the cabin. It also provides a little extra rigidity to the firewall from all the flexing from brake pedal pressure (particularly with the pedal pressure required with manual brakes).

Did the same swap on my car - '72 RR.

is the plate universal for the old mopars?
i have a duster in the back with manual brakes, and could use it if it works. also, will the pedal to m/c pin be the same?
thanks for the responses!
