Well, it's been a LONG time now. You'd think we'd be full of stories of successes and failures, assuming there were both.
How does this combo perform and hold up? How about for racing and high HP setups?
Do we have any good, long-term consumer feedback?

I,ve had mine for about 2 years and about 5000 miles behind a mild 450 hp 440 street car . No problems at all , best mod i did to the car . And besides minor clearance issues to the trans tunnel which a few blows with a B.F.H. took care of , it was a true bolt in swap in a 67 B body . No driveshaft angle issues like i see some people mention. If my drive shaft had any less pitch to it , it would be perfectly level ! It did shift rather harsh at first but after a few 100 miles it seemed to break in and now shifts smooth yet firm .

I've read the 'articles' on the GV site that were in Mopar magazines. Unless I missed one, they never really said much about the units, just mentioned them as part of an install of this or that project car.
Has any Mopar magazine done an all-out article on them?
It seems like this unit is the neglected step-child of trans options.

I have one that I have used in two different vehicles, and have owned it for 5 years.I originally had it in a 84 D350, and before I sold that truck I removed it to put in my 71 Challenger. I've driven the car on 2 trips since its restofication. It has 3.55 gears, and when in OD, cruises at 2300 rpm at 70 mph. Like mentioned above, I had to the dog dookey out of the trans tunnel to get clearance. From what I understand, the newer units are a little smaller than mine, and require less hammering. I ran an extra wire with connectors, from the solenoid on the unit to the foot switch. I taped it up and left it unplugged, but can plug it in if the electronic controller fails, and the unit will still be usable till I could get a new brain box.I had a box fail when the unit was in the truck(which GV replaced free)and used the extra wire to still have OD.I have been pleased with mine, and would buy another one.

I have 30K miles on mine behind 560 lbs torque. No problems. Just performs day in and day out. The best improvement I have ever made to the car.
Ya can't beat 96 mph at 3400 rpm

Serge, I know a guy up near Sacramento who has one in a 71 cuda and was pretty impressed with it. I could probably get you his contact information if you were interested in seeing someone localish with one to see how it works.

Thanks, everyone. My gut feeling is that it works great. I base this on the fact that
#1 - It's not cheap.
#2 - There haven't been people complaining about it.
When people buy expensive things and they don't work, you hear about it. Especially at Moparts!
I do wonder, though, why there hasn't been an article in a Mopar magazine that really checked it out and took on the issue.
With gas going up, up, up, this becomes a more important modification for people who drive a lot.

I didn't see it either. That's why asked hoping some one had done the math. Why do they ask for rearend ratio and tire size? Are there differences in the units they build for the same trans.
They use this info so the correct speedo gear is in your kit...They take all the guesswork out and make it a smooth install....Mine is dead on...
