Can't wait to see the numbers and ETs...we have been talking about building a Slant 6 car for a very long time, and got hooked on the Turbo stuff when I lived in Japan...Finally going to start on my Slant turbo project in October...keep us posted,

Did you think of having the crank welded and ground for 4.5" stroke or is it really not worth it in a turbo app? The extra throw should add some to the low end grunt.

Very cool project. I have my first engine I rebuilt still 1970 /6 and auto. What kind of budget did you do your first turbo install at approximately?

Really no need. It makes a boat load of TQ now. BTW, the stock stroke is 4.125".

The turbo install was around 2k-2.5k with some mistakes learned from. All said and done the first go was 6k including purchase price of the car, brake upgrades, axle upgrades, front end rebuilt...etc.

Yeah I always new my old /6 was a torque monster for its size but now I know why with the 4.125 stroke. Heck back in the day around town a guy in class with me had a 307 camaro he thought I had a 318 in my Duster. That was funny to see him react when I told him there was a 6 under the hood.

The stroker B and RB engines use 4.150 cranks and the one I am working on now has a 4.25 crank throw. I was checking out the slant six site and seen that some people have welded and then offset ground the /6 crank to the 4.5 stroke.

That is what got me thinking about that kind of a package. Since torque is what gets work done (and makes our heavy cars accelerate quicker) HP is a byproduct of torque.

Sometimes when I go to Laredo they send me up to GM and I end up in New Boston. I would love to check out your car in person.

I do want to build a cast crank slant with a turbo and intercooler. EFI to make it easier to tune.

I did using the Hanger 18 instructions and reading about blow thru carbs on turbo mustangs dot com.

Rug, shoot me a note when you are next out this way. That is about an hour and 15 minutes south of me.

Yeah, drivability is great around town...a few years back I checked the MPG and got 19mpg round trip 100 miles to the track and back including 3 passes.

I'm still a little rich at a cruise and have not messed with it because everything else seems to be real good.

What kind of mods to your torque convertor or is it a stock rebuild?

The TC is a mopar 904 175k. They are no longer available. It's rated at 24-2500rpm stall but I can pretty much make it stall whereever I want. Over 3000rpm is common.

I keep hearing about the Hanger 18 carb instructions but can't find them anywhere. Where?
