Take an impact socket just larger than the lug and hammer it over the lug and use an impact wrench to loosen it.

Use a punch to knock the center pin in and use either a 3/8" or 1/2" extension, which ever will fit, to take them off. Did it a lot while working at a used car lot.

Hammer a old socket on it and it should come off.

Easy to hard

Head over to a used car lot that has been there for decades. They probably have a coffee can full of keys.
Go to a tire shop (not a chain store, the local guys). They have the special tool that works pretty good.
Buy the special tool yourself
Beat on a socket
Weld on a nut

While in high school a buddy had a few sets of wheels stolen from his car. Frustrated, he had four different locking lugs installed. They took his wheels yet again, and lined the lug nuts up neatly on the curb... apparently they are easy to remove. Good luck!

well i tried pounding on a socket, 12 pt and 6 pt.,that didn't work.i went to sears and bought the wheel lock nut remover socket set.still no luck it appears the nut is hardend. and the fluted end won't grip the nut.i really don't want to weld a nut on on this since it has alumnium wheels.any other ideas?i may try the tire shop idea on my day off.if there any other ideas please post them. thanks for all the repies.

Most often a 12 point socket will work. I've taken keys that are close and ground the non fitting portion off. At times I've had to air chisel them, catch a notch in the grove and walk it around. Also smack inward towards the wheel with a large hammer, many times this will loosen it enough to use the previous socket idea mentioned. I've had to torch them off as well. Covering the surface of the wheel with wheel bearing grease before torching will protect the finish of the wheel.
Good luck Doug

I have had a few stubborn ones, but using a larger has done it in the past. I use like a 10" extension on the socket (to keep the hammer away from the wheel) then use a small sledge to it on, instead of just a normal hammer. Not only does the added weight help to pound the socket down and on, it also helps shock (as mentioned) the lock itself to help loosen it some..

As I said earlier. Take a punch and drive the center pin in. There is enough room between the stud and lock to do this. Then take a square 3/8 drive short extension and use it as a key. I have done a bunch of lock lug removals this way while working on used cars.

Kinda makes you wonder why you would bother buying lock nuts at all.

Drive a close sized socket on and use an impact on it.

I want my fair share

If all else fails you can carefully use a cut off wheel and slit the outer shell of the lug nut on both sides and then knock it off with a punch. If you do this make sure you cover the wheel and anything else important from the sparks the cut off wheel throws. I like to make one cut parallel to the rim on two opposite sides of the nut where it meets the wheel and then make my perpendicular cuts/slits that run along the length of the lug nut shell that way you kep the cut off wheel away from the rim itself as much as possible. This is a pain but I've done it before.

If you have a Discount Tire store in your area, they have a master set to remove any brand of lock.
