Hi Folks: I finally have an enclosed trailer - 28ft ATC. I need to find a resonably -->quiet<-- 3500 - 4000 watt generator for the compartment. I know Hondas are quiet, but I spent all my money on the trailer. Can you help? Thanks Tom
Hey Tom,
I would agree with the rest Honda and Yamaha make a great quiet inverter style generator, BUT like you said if you don't have the budget right now take a look at the Champion 3500/4000 generator. I have one and can recommend it very highly, yep it’s a Chinese knock of a Honda engine. CPE offers excellent customer service and parts should you need them are available. This unit is not Honda quiet but it is not Briggs Stratton load, some where in the middle at I believe 68db. You can find these for around $300-$350. Good Luck, Bill

I showed up once with a diesel unit . it stunk out the entire row of trailers so bad 3 guys handed me extentions from their trailers to use for power if I would shut mine down
Wow it sounds like the motor wasn't running right. I have about 3500 hours on a 8K diesel unit. It dumps into the 5" exhaust pipe for the truck motor and exhaust out on the ground by the rear tire. It runs for days at a time and never smell it. It get's it's fuel from the main fuel tanks so it has run many hours and has been great and does get great fuel milage.
Before this rig, I had a 8K RV gas unit in a race trailer that I had. I used a 8' long exhaust stack we used to put on for the weekend, it ran up the side of the trailer to get the exhaust up over the tops of the trailes. but I swear my diesel don't stink much and we never notice the smell, maybe because the exhaust is pointing towards the ground.

I wouldn't go with anything else but Honda. Nothing is as quite or dependable. You'll regret anything else you buy in about 30 days after you buy something that isn't a Honda.
EU3000is is the only way to go.

Generac generators with the OHV engines hold up quite well.

I bought 2 Honda EU2000's.....linked them together to make a 4000...but it's also nice to have a smaller 2000 for tailgating or other uses...the 3000 was too bulky for moving around.
...not a bad choice, but I'd prefer the EU3000 or Yamaha because you can start/stop it with a remote. IF you plan on sleeping in your trailer at night, get the EU3k/Yamaha. They can be run quiet enough as to not bother anyone.
I have a Honda EM5000 and a Honda EU2000. The 5k will run anything I want, and the 2k can run all night if I need the heater etc...
