up to coil bind

spring pressure are what kills stock rocker arms,IMHO

I run .485 lift/comp 901-16 springs on a roller cam and all stock valve gear and rockers

you can get more with machine work but the rockers still are limeted on spring pressure

for a stock 318 head comp 901-16 are a good spring and work well with stock valve gear

they are good to .500 lift,IIRC

.485 lift and the comp 901 spring has worked good for me on all my stock 318 heads/engines

even have a lunati 292/292 bracket cam with .485 lift and comp 901s

OH! and if it has rotators on the exhast valves, ditch them for a standerd spring hieght and use 8 intake retainers on them

the rotators will not take much lift at all and use a shorter spring height
