It is listed as a Wrangler/Cherokee unit.

Is this for an inline 6? Do the later inline 6 motors use a different bolt pattern than the SB V8 and 3.9 engines?

That housing will only fit a V8 if you redrill all the holes. It looks like it fits the 4.0l straight six. A great engine by the way. Look at the starter mount! Its at the 11:00 position, right where cylinder # 8 needs to be. Bummer huh?

Bummer would have been assuming it would work and clicking "Buy it now."

Thanks to your reply I can go back to the drawing board, figure out what will bolt to my 360 Magnum on my quest to de-automatic the Duster and narrow my search.

Any traditional LA bellhousing will also fit the Magnum blocks. If you are looking for a cheap trans option, You can use aluminum overdrive 4 speed transmissions in Dodge trucks and vans up until 1987. They have the longer tailshaft housing, but BigBlockDart.com shows how to deal with that. PickNPull still has them coming through every now and then. You will still need to deal with flywheel balance if your Magnum is a 360. Good luck!

I already know the Toyota R154 I will be using physically bolts to the same bell housings the AX-15, NV3550, etc. bolt to.

I have no interest in the Mopar 4 speed o/d. thanks for the suggestion though.

I will keep looking for the bellhousing that'll bolt to a Mopar SB and and has the universal pattern I need.

Hey-hey! Finally found a pic of the bell i need, for visual reference.

Unfortunately there is an AX15 bolted to it, hahaha.

Thanks for confirming that the inline 6 and V8 bells are a different pattern.
