Just bolted the alternator , which has a double groove pulley, on to my 67 street hemi and neither of the grooves on the alternator pulley line up with the water pump or balancer pulley. Do I have the incorrect alt. pulley? Should it be a single groove? Do I have the incorrect water pump or balancer pulleys?? The water pump and balancer pullleys line up with each other perfectly, but I am not sure what they came off of. Need some assistance please. thanks

What is the alignment of your attach bracket and the bottom adjuster... Your pulleys may not be causing an misalignment, but if the whole unit is not in it's proper position in space, it'll never line up. Also, which water pump and crank pulley are you using? Have you any pictures with all three installed on the motor?
A '67 motor/configuration would have the regular big block non-a/c water pump pulley you see on 383 and 440 4bbl's until, say '71. This is the reason the alternators with one-groove pulleys work.. The '66-'68 2-groove crank pulley is different than the '69 and later.

Quote:
67 uses the single groove pulley .
Get the correct single groove one back on there, I'll bet it fixes your problem.
