Yes, the 8207 works really well with the MSD e-curve distributor. I designed a bracket to hold the 8207 onto a Mopar intake manifold because nothing else was available on the market.

According to the chart it should work with the 6al box.I like it because its small and I can stick it anywhere.I know some of the other coils put out more spark but tehy are too big to hide.

Here is another picture of a bracket for the MSD 8207 coil.

I also came up with a bracket for the big-block engines. This bracket works best with single plane intakes that have room between the runners.

As of the 2011 SEMA show the 8207 solid state coil had compatibility problems with E-curve distributors. Early versions did not apparently have this problem.

I bought a E-curve and 8207 in early 2011 and exchanged the E-curve for another a few months later. The E-curves would not run with the 8207 coil.

At last SEMA I explained my dilemma to the MSD booth and they said to run a oil filled coil. I put on an oil filled coil and it worked great. No issues. Nice unit.

I have no idea if MSD has resolved this compatibility issue since last Nov.

They need to resolve the issue of their cheap a$$ blaster II terminals breaking off with very little torque put on them!

I barely tightened mine down and it broke, leaking oil out all over the place.

When I really examined it, it was a lot cheaper than the one I had purchased ~10 years ago.
