2003 Durango that wife drives.

Have had really no problem at all with the engine. I have done oil changes, trans fluid, filters, etc.... very regularly. Are there any issues that repeatedly come up on these engines when they get miles on them?

spark plugs every 30K PCV every 60K , a FIS will clean carbon off pistons and valves .

Have 2 of them with over 120k miles each and no problems or funky noises yet.

04 Dakota with 71K, no issues at all. Mobil 1 and PureOne filter every 5K.

The 4.7 got an early rep as a sludger, but if you get the oil up to temp regularly and use a good synthetic, no problem.

Weird thing with mine, when new I used GTX 5W-30 dino, it used a quart every 2000 miles. I switched to M1 5W-30, used a quart every 5000, and still does 4 years later. I guess I have a hot spot above the flashpoint of GTX but below M1. Go figure. Just a fun little reminder of the German occupation.
