Okay..I took a chance and installed my six pack on a perfectly running tuned engine..Now of course I have problems..I love the look of a six pack, but have some issues..first problem, one of my outboard carbs has a stripped fuel adjuster on the bowl, so where can I find a replacement..secondly before I stripped the adjuster I was tuning my center carb when I had a backfire. now it wont idle right at all, did I blow the Power valve? also can you use the metering block on a standard Holley 3310 carb to replace the metering block on the center carb on my six pack? of course any help would be appreciated.

Not sure about the plates. Lot of people use the Pro-Max plates. Here's how I installed mine. I dropped the outboard rods, then tuned the center carb. Do not try and adjust the idle w/ the out boards hooked up. (not at 1st anyway) I started the car, let it warm up then set my timing (yours is set from before I'd guess) then I turn the screws and adjusted for best vacuum, reset the idle then chcked the screws again. Also mke sure your floats are set. Next I attached the outboard rods and made sure they were shut. If not they will make the car race. I burpped mine a few times thru the carb and my PV seems fine.
I get to go thru all this again soon! I just replaced the short block. good luck.

Yes a back-fire can take out the power valve. Is the engine "stock" or modified? For modified motors, it is recommended you replace the metering plate in the outboard carbs to one that accept standard Holley jets so you can tune the end carbs for proper fuel mixture at WOT rather then richening the primaries.

You might want to check with ProMax Carbs (Moparts Sponsor) for your fuel bowl and or other parts for the six pak. They specialize in Mopar 6-paks, from rebuilds, complete stock restorations, to full race applications.

Okay..so a backfire can take out the PV..I had gunned the engine while tuning and it backfired..so I will check the PV. Also my engine is a modified one So if I used jets on my outboard carbs, do I still need the adjustment screws to richen or lean the outboard carbs?
again thanks

are the outboard linkages supposed to be loose or tight.it seems that if they are tight the idle will change..
thanks again

your idle should stay the same w/ the outboards hooked up or if they are not. If the idle picks up then you need to adjust it out.
